total blahhh and disapointment!

Ok you all know i got my new embroidery machine yeah well after two of them and only 4 days I have not 1 one the gears were dry and bound up on the top shaft after 15 hours of sewing so they took that one back and gave me another one so got that one home and started her up and sewed about 45 min and it was missing stitches and stitching out side of the stitch box! so i called viking SOS and we spent literally 5 hours on the phone and them treating me like i did not know what i was doing so they finally took over my computer and low and behold it was not me the computer went out on a brand new machine that I took out of an un-opend box! So can you guess what i said! I dont want this machine I am returning it and I will never own another viking in my life again!
This all just reaffirmed my Loyalty to Bernina ONLY! I bought a deco they had to order it for me but that is ok and before I got there Kathy had taken it out of the box opened it up made sure everything was Oiled and looked right then she tested it and then she made sure it was set up for my mom and her Lace (believe it or not they are not set up to run lace but for patch work and quilting!) Now that is quality and CUSTOMER SERVICE! at viking they think only viking needles can run in viking OMG ok enough with the rant I am going to go pout some more and try to get some work done and maybe I will have a few things for the chiristmas shows OMG I am in such a mess now!

Trying to learn new machine and do a wedding dress remake

Ok I have given myself 2 days to learn enough on the new machine I think I can start on a real project. It took me all of yesterday almost to set up the machine to just sew lace and then a few more hours to sew both. They said it could not sew lace LOL don't tell mom and I it cant anything we will figure it out!

So we headed off to ughhh Joann's the most useless fabric store there is and bought some organza so we could work on some projects and I could do the half sleeve for my wedding dress remake. Which I still have yet to figure out what would be the best way to make a whole new half sleeve. The dress is an empire and did not come with even a half sleeve i could change so it is a total from scratch kind of project. I found the basic underlay pattern to stitch on the organza and the border So now comes the fun and the hard part making it all work. '

On top of all of that I still have to finish the Dragon Shirt i made for hubby and finish the skort Toni started and The Burda braided tank Bobbie started they gave up on sewing they said they can not stand all the rules and IRONING (ironing is 99% of all projects it is the difference between good and perfect ).

And then we are on a count down to the two biggest Christmas shows in the state that we got invited to do to get inventory done and we are down a machine again. the Bernnina 180E she has to get totally over hauled. But on a good note We were able to buy two new machines Monday so we will be up to 4 soon and only down 2 untill we can get one fixed and buy another one since the one we will be replacing  is a lemon and I am not fixing anymore LOL

Need to send hubby to school to learn how to fix all of these machines to save money! LOL

Ok enough yacking TIME TO WORK!

Featured on Sue Box

I got some of the best news last night!!!! I was jumping up and down and screaming!!! I got so excited I was sick to my stomach and had goose bumps or hours.

Tammy's Wedding dress was published on Sue Box's web page. For those of you who do not know who she is, she digitizes for embroidery machines. In my opinion she is the worlds best! Sue is would redounded and to own some of her programs is like owning gold. If you love to machine embroider and have not seen her stuff you must check it out. Mom has saved or months to buy her stuff.

Her is the link to about the location of where it is featured. Once you click the link you have to click the picture with the purple quilted wall hanging called "New from our embroidery friends" and then you click the button until you get to the dress.

Ok here is the story Tammy found this Jessica McClintock dress at a thrift store for $20.00 and brought it to me and said can you make this look more my age and more like a wedding dress for me?

Me being me got excited right away and was like oh yeah I get to embroider sew and alter you bet I will. So it started. We pulled out the Sue Box lace Collection image sheets and she picked a cute one but it was just not quiet right  but it was not quite right and because she is the bride and the customer I was like ok after a a  lot of trying to change her mind.

After she left I was like mom....and my Mom said just stitch out a few pieces and then you pick two others you think would look better and stitch a few of them out and then let her choose after that. So mom and I flipped thru the pages picking our favorites and then got down two the two best.

On the following Thursday she came back to have a fitting for the dress and to see what I had gotten done on the dress. Needless to say she picked the one that was my moms favorite and one of my favorites and decided to go with our picks. So the long hours of 16 hours a day for 6 days began of stitching them out and then connecting them and then hand sewing the lace on which took another 2 days. I had to re-size the pieces to make them work for the dress they were not really meant or clothing test and re-do.

She Came to see the final results and to check the final fit and cried. Tammy said she did not think she would have something that gorgeous she thought it would just dress it up. The lace actually looks like it was designed for the pattern on the dress.

When Tammy got home she published to her facebook and so did I and I posted to my Burda page. We got a lot of nice raves and then the bad ones came in. Once person even said it looked like a table cloth with lace, and the Burda page it got 10 votes and some people voted it low so it is only rated a 4 star  now.

Well what do you think that did to my pride but after a few days I was like I know this thing is gorgeous lets see if Sue Box herself agrees with how I did on my stitching and my choice of lace. Only after tons of talking with my mom and her having to almost beat me to get me to do it. So I sent in the pictures and a small story of the dress and then last night I went to just check to see because I had not heard from them and I opend the page after 2 months later of submitting and there was my dress my name and they even called it a designer original!. I know I know not that big of a deal but yes it is she does not post your things unless they are good enough!

So now I know it is not a table cloth with lace!
